Geographic Exceptions
For Out-of-District Students & Parents
Applying for a geographic exception (GE) to Kawananakoa for next year? Be sure to complete Section 1 of the GE form and submit to your current HIDOE school (or in-district school if the student currently attends private school) between January 1, 2024 - March 1, 2024 along with a self addressed stamped envelope and current proof of residence. If the GE request is approved, you will then be allowed to complete the enrollment paperwork to register at Kawananakoa.
For Current Students & Parents
Applying for a geographic exception (GE) to another HIDOE school for next year? Be sure to complete Section 1 of the GE form and submit to our office (beginning in January) along with a self-addressed stamped envelope and current proof of residence by March 1, 2024.
Please note: The chance of having a GE request approved for the current school year is reduced as many schools have filled spots with approved GE requests submitted from the prior year.
